Monthly Archives: January 2017

The  Seacoast Camera Club is pleased to present their annual print exhibition at the Portsmouth Library (175 Parrott Ave, Portsmouth, NH) February 6th to March 4th, 2017. The exhibition will be in the Levenson Room on the first floor – to the left as you enter the library.

A special reception is planned for Wednesday February 15th 7:00 – 8:00 PM in the Levenson Room. All SCC members and members of the public are encouraged to attend. In addition to a opportunity to view the prints and talk with the artists, we will have two fascinating travel presentations:

New Orleans Mardi Gras – by Thomas Lavoie

Colors of Carnival- by Thomas Lavoie

Photographer and musician Thomas Lavoie takes us on a colorful trip to New Orleans’ Mardi Gras in this presentation of his images.

Cuba: Its Raw and Gritty Beauty – by Karen Harter

Cuban Classics – by Karen Harter

In January 2016, Karen Harter embarked on a photography/humanitarian trip to Havana and Trinidad, Cuba. With fellow photographers from around the country, she roamed the raw and gritty streets capturing images of the Cubans she met along the way and the neighborhoods in which they live. Take a journey to Cuba through Karen’s images and personal stories…no visa required.

The public can also view the exhibition during regular library hours – please call the library at 603-427-1540 if you need to confirm the room is accessible at the time of your visit, since it is used for other events.
