Tuesday Feb 24th 6pm we hold our local club qualifier for the NECCC Spring competition. Club members are invited to submit their images for the Nature and Open (Pictorial) categories by Saturday Feb 21 (midnight deadline). The top four winners in each category are submitted to the NECCC regional competition. Details are in our calendar entry. The public is welcome to attend the meeting – an opportunity to meet club members and see how we conduct our competitions, which are intended to help everyone learn to take better images through analysis of technique, composition, story-telling, and impact.

Join us at our next Seacoast Camera Club meeting on Tuesday Feb 10th for a presentation by guest speaker Christopher Georgia, a New Hampshire photographer specializing in astro-photography and time-lapse videos. Chris, the RAWards photographer of the year in 2013, will be showing imagery he’s captured around New England.
He’ll begin the talk with completed images and time lapse then break down how he captured these images using camera bodies, lenses, motion time lapse equipment, iPhone apps, and astronomy tips. From there he’ll show how images come together using Lightroom and Photoshop. Finally, he’ll demonstrate how he takes RAW files and turn them into a finish product.
Visit Chris’ website at www.cmgfoto.com for examples of his work. Chris also has an image in the Earth and Sky Photo Contest 2013 video linked to on his Features and Press page – this short video highlights some of the best astro-photography from around the world.
As always, the meeting is open to the public. Please see our calendar entry for more information.
